Paper Sharing: High Voltage Side DC-Bus Capacitor Voltage Balancing Control of a 350 kW Multiport EV Charging System
Solid-state transformer (SST) is promising for high-power EV charging due to its small footprint . It uses a shared DC bus to connect to EVs via DC/DC converters. However, this approach increases system costs and reduces efficiency due to multiple converter units in series connection. To overcome these challenges, this paper proposes a matrix switch-based solution. Outputs from cell converters are connected to a matrix switch, enabling three separate fast-charging ports

Paper Sharing: An Integrated Simulation/Laboratory System to Investigate Grid/Inverter Stability Issues
“This paper reports an advanced experimental laboratory test-set that can physically replicate the plant response of large-scale synchronous generators, allowing the dynamic response of power systems with high levels of inverter penetration to be investigated at a laboratory level. The paper also presents a fast execution matching simulation model of the experimental testbed that can be used for control strategy analysis and refinement, before proceeding to experimental investigations.

Paper Sharing: Residential Loads Modeling and Load Profile Generation for Microgrid EMS Design in Tunisia
“This paper introduces a methodology for residential daily load profile generation considering microgrid energy management system (EMS) design. The envisioned EMS considers power flow exchange and power quality issues. For this purpose, static ZIP load models and equivalent circuit model of residential loads taken from literature are implemented as circuit models. This latter is aggregated and simulated using DSIM software to generate the daily load profile according to the end-user activity.”

Paper Sharing: Individual Module Power Transmission Control for Extreme Fast Charging Stations Configured With Solid-State Transformer
Generally, “additional power conversion stages consisting of DC-DC converters should be connected to DC-bus in SST-based XFC stations in order to charge multiple electric vehicles (EVs) simultaneously”, but incur construction cost and power loss. “This paper proposed the individual module power transmission (IMPT) in SST-based XFC stations to solve the problem.” And the simulation results using DSIM verify the validity of the proposed IMPT.

Paper Sharing: Virtual Synchronous Generator Control Integrated into a Microgrid
Virtual synchronous generators (VSGs) play a crucial role in this context by facilitating the integration of renewable energy sources and enhancing system stability amidst voltage and frequency fluctuations in the grid. Distributed generation can be categorized into two common scenarios: multiple renewable energy sources connected to independent power sources or to the electrical grid while supplying power to an equivalent total load.

Paper Sharing: Stability Analysis of a Direct-Synchronized Single-Phase Grid-Tied Inverter
The paper analyzes the stability of a single-phase voltage source inverter (VSI) system by evaluating two direct synchronization methods employed in its phase-locked-loop (PLL): (1) by using the capacitor voltage and second-order generalized integrator (SOGI) quadrature output as PLL input, (2) by directly using both SOGI outputs as PLL inputs. A synchronous reference frame small-signal model is developed by introducing fictitious orthogonal quantities

Paper Sharing: Open-Circuit Switch Fault Diagnosis in Single-Phase CHMC with Switching Duty Ratio-Based Estimated Grid Current
This paper introduces a method for diagnosing open-circuit switch (OCS) faults in single-phase cascaded H-bridge multilevel converters (CHMC) using an estimated grid current based on the switching duty ratio. The proposed technique estimates the grid current through the switching duty ratio of each switch during the control period. The faulty switch pair is then identified by analyzing the sign and magnitude of the residual between the estimated and sampled grid currents.
